David Lowery is the founder of two commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands, Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven. Originally trained as a mathematician, Lowery has long been interested in the intersection of technology, finance and music. In 2008, while serving on the board of advisors for a website called  thepoint.com, he created a tipping point “campaign” to get his fans to commit to buying tickets for a proposed music festival.
